Booostr Volunteer Sign Up to Manage event volunteers.

Introduction

As we approach the end of the year, we are working incredibly hard to release one more feature AND update the current site design.  Both of these are requiring a TON of focus and work and in order to meet our internal deadlines – this week was a little light on updates.  Really we only pushed some small tweaks and fixes to live server (see the list near the bottom of this update).

Even though the week was light with new updates and pushes to the live server, we have made huge strides in the Volunteer Sign Up Tool AND the updates Site UX/UI.  With the momentum on both of these projects we are feeling incredibly confident of both of their releases before the end of  2024!  So for this update, we thought we would discuss the Volunteer Sign Up Tool features in a bit of a detail to prepare you for the NEW functionality!

Volunteer Management is a tool we have  noticed growing in importance with all types of small nonprofits.  One of the issues we have heard, is that this is both a problem and the solutions that exist tend to be on the costlier side, for small organizations. This tool has always been a part of Booostr’s roadmap, and with the release of the Event Calendar tool earlier this year – now was the perfect time to add the Volunteer Manager.

What Booostr’s Volunteer Manager does, is allow organizations to create a volunteer sign up for ANY event on their Booostr Calendar.  The Volunteer Tool allows Profile Managers to choose the event from their calendar that they want to add a volunteer sign up to. The event can be single day or multi-day.

Using the Volunteer Sign Up Manager, the profile manager adds the jobs to the proper days, the shifts to the jobs and the number of roles per shift they need. Once the sign-up form is created, it has a custom shareable landing page that is created OR they can choose to embed the landing page off of Booostr. As the Sign Up Form collects volunteers, the organization is able to approve or decline any volunteers.

Beyond the basic functionality, Booostr has added a layer of intelligence to the system to automatically manage Sign Ups opening and closing as roles are accepted and filled.  We have also connected the tool to necessary Booostr tools where data should flow and exist – ie. Contact Manager.

There has been a ton of thought and process that has gone into the design and build out of this incredibly useful tool.  We are SO excited to get it released, we (obviously) can’t wait to talk about it!  Stay tuned and keep an eye out for the full release SOON!!!

 

Additional Weekly Updates

In addition to the updates detailed above, the team has also made some significant progress in the following areas:

  • Team Chat Tool/App –  Random navigation and usability Fixes and Updates
  • Manage/Support Club – Fixed syncing issues that were showing incorrect manage/supported numbers
  • Form Tool: Paragraph Element – Fixed recent text editor updates to the Paragraph Element

Items In Progress:

To continue our shift to transparent and open development of the platform, we also want to share some of the immediate things are that we are working on releasing.

  • Volunteer Sign Up – Allow organizations to solicit help from supporters and approve or deny volunteers.
  • Updated Front End Redesign launch – A complete rethinking of our website and application interface (in progress)
  • Financial Manager Updates – Reporting and automation updates
